Territory Sales Manager

 

Leading manufacturer of solution-based consumer products looking to hire a Territory Manager to drive our Accessory channel. This key position is responsible for Sales, Service, Training and Market Support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Building sales through relationships, previous accessory sales experience a plus
  • Creating customer presentations, line reviews and related strategic presentations
  • Identifying and recommending areas for product placement within retailers and within multiple departments
  • Developing, implementing and managing account sales plans and securing business approval to implement
  • Effectively communicating internally and externally to generate long-term sales growth, including working closely with cross-functional departments
  • Developing fact-based category planograms, in-store merchandising plans, trade marketing programs, advertising calendars and monthly forecasting
  • Additional duties as required

 Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related business discipline preferred or equivalent professional sales experience and accomplishments

  • 3+ years of Sales experience working for a manufacturer calling on retailers
  • A thorough understanding of the channels including: accessory, national and independent home improvement, mobile, home goods, and consumer goods retailer network in North America
  • Accomplishments managing complex customers
  • Demonstrated experience selling programs and managing mix to improve profitability year over year
  • Success with a broad, sku-intensive product mix and broad customer profile
  • Success managing an extensive account base with multiple departments and buyers at many accounts
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and communicating market needs that are critical to success – ability to conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and define a clear winning sales strategy
  • A proven track record of success driving sales growth year over year – including the acquisition of new accounts and managing multiple merchant relationships within a single retail partnership
  • Knowledge of how to expand a market through merchandising and pull programs rather than through price concessions
  • Experience managing line review programs to win business and listings by inspiring and leading cross functional teams to understand the critical-to-success market, channel and merchant needs and decision criteria
  • Identifies risk and develops plans to mitigate 
  • Understands, appreciates and exemplifies quality in all aspects of work
  • Embraces customer service as a core value
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, must display a strong sense of urgency and can work independently requiring little direct supervision
  • Willingness and ability for up to 40% overnight travel; some peak periods of intense trade show activity
